Le Beaujolais Nouveau n'est pas arrivé ici

My God it's difficult to argue with Alder over at Vinography about his feelings regarding Beaujolais Nouveau. I had been thinking for a few days about the many ways in which I really don't like this annual celebration of .... what? I'm not even sure.

I do know this: I don't like Beaujolais Nouveau.

That said, if you are looking for a reason to put up with the annual flogging of this stuff let me suggest this. It is symbolic of a particular vintage being the first wines out of the block.

Yet as we know, symbolism can be very overrated.
