Comments

Damn, that was one of your funniest posts in recent memory! I had to wipe tears from my eyes, especially with your recount from the Humboldt State dorms.

Makes me wish I had lots of money burning a hole in my pocket to buy land up there. Considering the latitude, it's perhaps even a better opportunity than Lake County was ten years ago.

That bud's for you, Tom!

Organics is an area I am extremely interested in, is it true that winemakers must only say say "Organically Grown Grapes" because the wine itself is not Organic per se because of the addition of essential chemicals in the wine making process, SO2 for example?

Now, if they could infuse those wines...

Lloyd - I'm sure it has been tried!

Great post! Love the last story!

Alcohol was outlawed for thirteen years by the federal government. Even today, years later we admit it was a mistake. Cannabis sativa, which first came to the U.S. as a medicine for menstrual cramps and digestive disorders has been outlawed since 1937. Here we are over seventy years later still watching non violent growers lose their houses and having their children taken from them and put in foster care. I know someone who was growing for a friend with Multiple Sclerosis and another person who has advanced diabetes and the cops broke down the door and pointed a loaded gun in the face of the growers pregnant wife. They are still in court, thousands of dollars later. Cannabis sativa and Vitis vinifera go well together and as we defend democracy abroad and Afghan warlords vast poppy fields, one would assume Americans would be free to enjoy some home grown herb but no. This country needs to take a puff and mellow out.
